Gomed is the Indian name for the Gemstone Hessonite. Hessonite is a garnet derivative. It originates from a calcium aluminium silicate. Hessonite (Gomed) is usually reddish orange or yellow orange. It is referred as the ‘rahu ratna’ in India.
